Vision Innovation Partners provides expert management and support to the leading providers of comprehensive eye care services in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Company supports many of the leading clinical practitioners in the market by leveraging its experienced management team; scalable technology and systems; and well-developed back office functions including compliance, managed care contracting support, finance, medical records management, practice management and marketing.
Our company was founded in 2017 by Drs. Maria Scott and Mark Whitten, physicians in two premier mid-Atlantic ophthalmology groups, Chesapeake Eye Care and Laser Center and Whitten Laser Eye, to build a management company that would support providers to take eye care to the next level. Vision Innovation Partners returns the joy of practicing to the physicians, relieving them of the need to run a business.
Drs. Scott and Whitten sought a financial partner in the New York-based Centre Partners, which provided the capital investment foundation for the new business.
Since its formation, Vision Innovation Partners (formerly known as Chesapeake Eye Care Company) has experienced remarkable growth with management services provided to 23 practices since 2017. In 2022, Vision Innovation Partners partnered with Gryphon Investors (“Gryphon”), a leading middle-market private equity firm based in San Francisco, CA.
We have kept up with external factors that drive the eye care industry, created operational efficiencies in our managed practices that have improved their profitability and, most importantly, let doctors be doctors.
